Designed and developed a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform enabling clinical trial investigators and participants to conduct secure virtual consultations with integrated video conferencing, screen sharing, device diagnostics, and clinical documentation workflows.
Clinical trial investigators required a secure, HIPAA-compliant way to conduct remote check-ins (E-Visits) with participants. The platform needed stable WebRTC connections, robust camera/microphone diagnostic handling, and the ability to capture clinical notes immediately following the call, all while protecting sensitive health data.
My task was to build the client-side video-call environment using the Twilio Video SDK, design custom audio/video device validation flows, implement dynamic screen-sharing toggles, and construct the post-call visit-notes wizard.
Built a resilient video consultation experience on top of Twilio Video and WebRTC, addressing common browser and device failures through custom media diagnostics, permission validation, and fallback handling. Implemented screen-sharing capabilities, participant lifecycle management, and post-call clinical documentation workflows that seamlessly integrated with existing study records.
Delivered a secure virtual consultation experience that enabled clinical trial teams to conduct remote participant visits without requiring third-party conferencing tools. The solution reduced operational friction through automated device validation, streamlined clinical note capture, and supported regulatory compliance requirements for handling sensitive patient information.
